1.) Who was Melchizedek? (Read Gen. 14:18-20)
King of Salem and priest of God.
2.) What does his name mean?
King of righteousness or King of peace.
3.) How was Melchizedek unusual?
Without beginning or end.
4.) How much did Abraham give Melchizedek?
10% of everything he had.
5.) How is Melchizedek different from the Levite priests?
The Levite priests died.
6.) How can it be said that Levi paid the tenth to Melchizedek?
Because Abraham paid the tenth and Levi was his great grandson.
7.) Because the Levitical priesthood could not offer salvation a future high priest like who had to come and who was this high priest?
A high priest like Melchizedek.
8.) If a new priesthood is established what must happen to the law?
The law must be changed also.
9.) What tribe is Jesus from?
10.) Who made an oath that the law would change and that Jesus would be the new high priest?
God himself made the oath.
11.) Why is Jesus a permanent priest?
Because He lives forever.
12.) How is Jesus different than the high priests of the old law?
He does not need to sacrifice for his own sins first and he does not have to offer sacrifices over and over again.
13.) Why are sacrifices no longer offered?
Because Christ sacrificed himself to end all other sacrifices.

15.) Why did God give specific directions to Moses about how to make the tabernacle?
It was a representation of the church to come.
16.) What was wrong with the old covenant that required a new one?
It required a better sacrifice to forgive people of their sins.
17.) The writer says that the old law will soon do what?
Become more and more obsolete before it disappears.
