Questions for Tue, Jan 28th (Mark 4)
1.) What is the seed?
The Word of God
2.) What are the places that they seed landed in?
The path, rocks, thorns, good soil
3.) Who were the parables NOT explained to?
To those on the outside of the kingdom.
4.) Did Jesus NOT want certain people to be forgiven?
Jesus is quoting Isaiah 6 here. The Bible gives overwhelming evidence that Jesus wants everyone to be saved. "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 He is speaking about those "outside" specifically the Pharisees. Everyone, however, needs to "seek out" eternal salvation. Jesus was never going to incapacitate everyone with His blinding light as He did to Paul. He always allowed for free will. Remain blind or open your eyes and repent.
5.) Did Jesus think the disciples should have understood the parable of the sower?
6.) What should you do with your light?
Let it shine into the darkness of the world that others may glorify God
7.) The next two parables are similar to the sower because they both mention what?
seeds and planting
8.) To whom did Jesus always explain the parables?
To his disciples.
9.) What did Jesus tell the tempest?
Peace! Be Still!
10.) What did Jesus tell his disciples?
Why are you so afraid? Do you still not have faith?
