Questions for Sat, Feb 15th  (Luke 6)

Luke 6

1.) What were the disciples doing on the Sabbath?.

Eating some grain as they were walking through a field.

2.) What OT example did Jesus use?

David eating the consecrated bread meant for the priests.

3.) What made the Pharisees furious?

That Jesus had performed a healing on the Sabbath.

4.) How long did Jesus pray?

The whole night.

5.) What are the names of the twelve apostles?

Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James, Simon, Judas (Thaddaeus) and Judas Iscariot.

6.) Where else in the scripture do we find these statements by Jesus?

Matthew 5: The Beattitudes.

7.) How are we to treat people that treat us badly? How good are we at doing that?

Do good, pray and bless them. I would suggest I, myself, could use a lot of improvement in this area.

8.) What does "Do not judge" mean?

To judge or condemn to hell as if any of us have that power.

9.) Is removing the speck from your brother's eye the same as judging?

It is called helping or snatching them from the fire by helping someone see what needs to be corrected.

10.) How do you know if a tree is an apple tree? How do you know if a person is a good person?

By the fruit that it produces.

11.) Whatever is in your heart goes where when it overflows?

Out of the mouth for all to hear.

12.) What is Jesus's definition of a wise man?

Hears the Word of God and puts it into practice.
