Started persecuting the church.

2.) Who did Herod murder and who did he arrest?

He killed the apostle James, the brother of John and arrested Peter.

3.) How many guards were assigned to watch this one prisoner?

16 guards.

4.) What did the church begin to do for Peter in earnest?

They earnestly prayed for him.

5.) What miracle happened the night before Peter's trial?

An angel appeared and led Peter out of the prison.

6.) Where did Peter go?

John Mark's mother's house.

7.) Who answered the door and how happy was she to see Peter?

Rhoda and she forgot to open the door.

8.) Who did Peter say to go tell about his release?

Tell the Lord's brothers about what has happened.

9.) What happened to the 16 soldiers the next morning when they couldn't find Peter?

Herod executed the 16 soldiers.

10.) What city did Herod go to live for a while?

Caesarea.

11.) Why did the people of Tyre and Sidon want to meet with Herod and who was giving them support?

They wanted peace because they needed food. The had the support of Blastus, the king's servant.

12.) After Herod gave a speech, what did the people say he was?

They flattered him and called him a god.

13.) What happened to Herod?

He was struck down and eaten by worms and died.

14.) Barnabus and Saul went back where and who did they take with them?

They went back to Antioch and took John Mark with them.
