    The Chaldeans thought they were impregnable as well but Assyria had been crushing them

    70 years
  5. What is the fornication that Tyre commits with the world?
    Selling everything for money.
Isaiah 24
  1. What does Isaiah tell us will happen to the people of the earth?
    Destroyed and plundered
  2. What does the shaking of the olive trees and the gleaning of grapes represent?
    The judgement
  3. Who are the exalted ones that God will punish?
    The angels that fell
  4. Who are the kings of the earth?
    Those that exalted "themselves" above God.
  5. What is the judgment on the exalted ones and the kings of the earth?
    Imprisoned in the pit
  6. Why will the moon and the sun be disgraced and ashamed?
    God will be our light and no more need for the physical Sun and Moon

    Those that have humbled themselves before God and therefore made strong by God

    The Kingdom of God

    Provide a feast.
  4. What are the veil and the covering that will be removed?
    Sin and death that come from spiritual blindness.
  5. What will be swallowed up forever?
    Death
Isaiah 26
  1. What is the strong city of the believers?
    The Kingdom of God, the church
  2. How will the nation be expanded?
    Maybe a reference to Acts 10 with the admittance of the Gentiles into the Kingdom and the fulfillment of the promise to Abraham that all nations of the Earth will be blessed through him.
  3. What will happen to the dead who knew God?
    A bodily resurrection
Isaiah 27
  1. Who does Leviathan represent?
    Any major power trying to usurp God's power. Possibly referencing the Devil.
  2. Who is the vineyard that the Lord keeps?
    His followers. His kingdom.
  3. Who are the briars and thorns?
    Those that rebel against God.
  4. What is possible for the briars and thorns?
    Take root in God or be burned.
  5. What did God do to Israel with an "east" wind?
    Removed it. Babylon attacked from the East.
  6. Who does the fortified city represent?
    Those who put their trust in themselves.
  7. Will God have mercy on the fortified city?
    No mercy and no favor will be shown.
  8. Who will God gather out of the river? When will He do this?
    His people. When the trumpet is blown.
Isaiah 28
  1. Who is the strong one the Lord will use?
    The Assyrians
  2. What was the condition of the priest and the prophet?
    State of drunkenness and spiritual confusion
  3. How would God speak to his people from now on?
    With stammering lips and another tongue
  4. What was the people's attitude about God's precepts?
    The people viewed God's word with mockery and boredom

    They have made a "covenant with death" and an "agreement with Sheol

    Jesus

    Isaiah reveals that a "destruction is determined" by the Lord God of hosts upon the whole earth

    God's judgments are not random or endless; they are precise, purposeful, and designed to produce a "harvest" of righteousness.
