  1. Who prepared the way for Jesus? How did he prepare the way for the Lord?
    John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus. He prepared the way by baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
  2. What did John the Baptist wear? What did he eat?
    John wore clothing made of camel's hair with a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
  3. How was John's baptism of water different from Jesus' baptism?
    John baptized with water, but he prophesied that one would come after him who would baptize with the Holy Spirit.
  4. Who recognized Jesus in the healing of the unclean man?
    The unclean spirit. vs. 24: "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
  5. What relative of Peter did Jesus heal?
    Simon Peter's mother-in-law
  6. Why did Jesus send the healed leper to the priests?
    He was to show himself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for his cleansing, as a testimony to them.

  1. Who was let in through a roof to see Jesus?
    Four men brought a paralyzed man to Jesus.
  2. Why did the scribes not accept Jesus' ability to forgive sins? What did Jesus do about this?
    They thought only God could forgive sins, so they accused Jesus of blasphemy.
  3. What did Jesus teach about fasting?
    Jesus taught that fasting is not necessary while He, the bridegroom, was with His disciples, but there would be a time to fast later.
  4. What did Jesus teach about the Sabbath?
    Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Also, he declared that doing good on the Sabbath is lawful.
