- Who is represented by each type of seed in the parable of the sower?
By the wayside: Those who hear, but Satan immediately takes away the Word
On stony ground: Those who receive the Word with joy but have no root; they fall away in trouble or persecution
Among thorns: Those who hear, but are choked by cares of the world, deceitfulness of riches, and desires for other things
On good ground: Those who hear, receive, and bear fruit
- What are we to do with the Word?
We are to hear it, receive it, and share it—not hide it.
- With what measure will we receive understanding of God's word? What is taken away from those who do not seek to understand God's word?
We receive according to how we listen and respond.
- How is the Kingdom of Heaven like a mustard seed?
It starts very small, but grows into something great.
- What will we find in the kingdom when it grows to maturity?
It becomes a great tree, providing shelter and rest (shade) for others.
